A Day with Edge Hockey
Below is a sample schedule of a typical day at Edge.
Start and pick up times vary depending on groupings.
You will receive your schedule approximately two weeks before camp.
Drop off - 7:30am
This will be the first ice session of the day. On the ice the groups are divided into 5 different stations, each that teaches a different skill set. A progressive system is used, where basic skills are learned on Monday and advance throughout the week.
Read and React
This program is designed to teach the systems of hockey and how to react to different situations on the ice through ball hockey. We have now incorporated a large shooting and stick handling component to this part of the program as well.
This gives athletes a chance to learn more about all aspects of the game in a fun learning environment. Participants will learn about hockey equipment, systems and even have a chance to ask some of our professional players questions!
Second Ice Time
This is the second ice time of the day where we continue to teach skills on a progressive scale.
We offer a hot catered meal at every camp. Your child can bring their own lunch or participate in our lunch program.
Swimming or Power Play 2:00-3:00pm
All locations that have a pool will include fun pool time for each group. School locations that do not have a pool will have Power Play where we will play a variety of games or fun non-hockey activiities.
We teach children how to train off ice and build strength and conditioning. We also include team building and ice breakers in this program to help the overall development of each participant.
