Winnipeg Edge Hockey School
Welcome2010 School is open for Registration2010 will be the Fifth Annual Hockey School in Winnipeg August 16 - 20. The first four years we operated as the Manitoba Moose Hockey School, this year we will operate as an Edge Hockey School. What will this change means for our participants is really nothing. We will still have the same great program, along with many of the same amazing staff. Nolan Baumgartner, Shaun Heshka and many other pro hockey players will still be the on ice instructors with a great supporting case of staff as well. Participants and their families will not notice any difference, you will still see the same amazing school.
Our ProgramOur Program is open to male and female players aged 6 - 14 all levels. Players are grouped according to their skill level. Start times are between 7:30 - 11:00am and end times are between 3:30 - 6:30pm. Younger players start first and end first, with the oldest start last and ending last. Each group has about an 7 hour day.Daily each group has a morning ice session for 1 hour 15 minutes, an afternoon ice session for 1 hour, 1 hour of off ice conditioning, 1 hour of read & react, 30 minutes of hockey Talk and 30 minutes for lunch. Location Winnipeg, MBRiver Heights Community Arena: Will be our host in 2010 in Winnipeg for the 5th straight year.The River Heights Arena is located at 1370 Grosvenor Avenue. All the hockey school activates will take place at the arena. Click here for a map to the arena River Heights is a great location for the hockey school being centrally located and it has all the facilities we need. Main Ice surface with 8 dressing rooms, dry pad for our skill sessions, great fields for our conditioning programs and a gym for conditioning on those rainy days, large meeting room for class room sessions and a nice relaxed community feel. Check-inCheck-in will take place Sunday Aug 15 from 4:00 - 5:30pm at the River Heights Community Centre. You will receive your schedule, jersey and all details you will need for the week ahead as well you will have a chance to meet some of the professional players we have on staff. Jersey cresting will be available for an additional fee.This is a very short process that is designed to help us flow right into the program Monday morning. It is also a chance for each participant and their parents to meet their team leader & junior leader. The team leader will be the main person looking after your child all week (no activities take place on Sunday)

Thursday Staff Charity GameThursday Night will be the Charity Staff Hockey game which will start at 7:00pm and will have all the Edge Hockey School staff playing in a fun filled game trying to raise some money for a local charity. Come out and support a local charity and enjoy this family night out.Fun FridayFriday will be the final day of the hockey school and this is a great day for parents to come down and see what your child has learned throughout the week. This is a fun day for parents, children and staff alike. Your child's schedule is the same but during their afternoon ice time the children will be playing a game to showcase their talents. There will be lots of time to meet and talk with the staff as well.Winnipeg, MBWinnipeg is located in the heart of Southern Manitoba, with both the Yellowhead Highway and the Trans Canada Highway running through it. Cost & RegistrationCost of registration for the hockey school is $429.00 + GST (includes jersey).We require full payment OR a $100.00 deposit at the time of registration. If paying by credit card and you wish to only pay the $100.00 deposit you must indicate that in the comment box or you will be charged the full amount. All registrations must be paid in full by June 1, 2010. We offer a $15.00 discount for each additional child registering in the same family. If paying by cheques please make payable to "Edge Sports Consulting Inc.". There is an optional hot lunch service ($55.00 + GST) with a balanced menu designed to be pleasing to children. Cancellation Policy: Participants may cancel their enrollment in a school 60 days prior to the start of that school or camp; they will be given a full refund minus a $50.00 administration fee. NO cancellations other than medical will be accepted with less than 60 days notice before the start of a school or camp, there are no exceptions to this policy. Medical cancellations with less than 60 days notice must be accompanied by a doctor’s letter and are subject to the $50.00 administration fee. Registration occurs on a first come first served basis.
