Spring/Summer Program

Welcome to the Edge Conditioning Camps which for the summer of 2010 will be running out of Trico Centre. This is an on ice and off ice training program that runs the months of June, July and August, 5 days per week (Monday through Friday), 2 hours per day. This program is open to pro, college, junior, midget and bantam players. Participants can sign up for 1, 2 or 3 months and we will be flexible and pro rate fees to accommodate required away time (holidays, prior commitments).

Testing

At the beginning of your training we will test you in many areas related to hockey. Quickness, agility, balance, power, strength, flexibility, anaerobic endurance are just a few of the areas we will measure. Each participant will have an Edge binder to keep track of test scores. At the end of your training you will be retested to see you improvement. This testing gives us some guidelines for where you need improvement as well.

Training

In hockey you use many pieces of equipment such as your stick and skates. Most players forget the most important piece of equipment. THEIR BODY. We will give you this piece of equipment to use as a tool and it will be the one that makes a good player great. This program will focus on training the whole body for the complete athletic package.

A day during one of your sessions may look like this: warm-up, speed-power work, speed development linear and lateral, strength training, core work, aerobic conditioning, cool down and stretching.

Each player will be in the weight room 3 times per week working on explosive power. The intensity level increases each month to prepare players for the start of the season in September.

Nutrition

We want to train the whole body at these camps both inside and out, so in addition to the physical training at this camp we will also cover nutrition. We will have a guest speakers who with cover many aspects of nutrition such as: analysis of current diet, eating habits, look at new diets, pre and post game eating. We will teach you how to fuel your body so it will perform at maximum capacity.

Camp Details

The camp runs June, July and August in four week segments. You will train 5 days a week (Monday - Friday) 2 hours per day plus ice time if chosen. Dryland times in June are 4 - 6pm, July will be 9-11am Monday to Thursday and 8-10am Friday. August will be 9-11am each morning.

July ice times will start July 12 and run Monday through Thursday from 8-9am. August ice times will run Monday through Friday 8-9am.

You will not waste time during your sessions and at the end of the summer you will have results. Every activity you do is based around making you a better player.

Registration and Cost

Dryland cost of registration is $879.00 + GST per month. Cost of ice sessions in July is $132.00 + GST which runs July 12 to July 29 (Monday through Thursday). August ice sessions are $209.00 + GST for the month which runs Aug 3 - 27 (Monday through Friday). You will not find a better deal on ice times.
NOTE: we will pro-rate the fee if you are not going to participate in the whole month.
