1. How involved are your pro players at each of the hockey school named after them?
Our schools that are named after a pro player have a ton of involvement from that player. Each player has a connection to the host community with it being their hometown or home community. Each player will be at the school everyday throughout the week. The amount of time they spend each day at the school varies from player to player and day to day. Our players are on the ice for several hours each day at least. They will surprise you, and they will be there more than any other school out there advertising pro player.
2. Do the pro players make money off their school?
No. The players do not make a penny, they are volunteering all the time they put in. In fact at each school we support a local charity so quite often the players are giving money out. All the schools sponsor (prize donations) about 800 youth hockey tournament each year. Our staff charity game is also a big fund raiser for a local charity where the school matches a silver collection admission fee with a donation to the charity. We also donate between 20 -30 scholarships to different charities each year.
3. With all the staff on your staff page how do I know which staff will be at which school?
The core group of staff we have will be at several different school each year. Due to the number of pro players we have on staff it is hard for us to nail down the complete staff until everyone is done playing each spring. We will be trying to improve letting you know who will be at which camp with postings on our web page and newsletters to the participants.
4. Why do you have a Sunday check-in?
We hold a Sunday check in so each participant receives their schedule, jersey and has a chance to sign up for any optional services (jersey cresting, photo packages, lunch option if not signed up already) that are offered at that school. You get to meet the staff and come Monday morning everybody is ready to roll right into the program. Check-in should only take about 15 minutes per participant. Please note if you come early you will likely be standing in line a while as we start right at the scheduled time.
5. What if I miss Sunday check-in?
No problem, we have a late check-in on Monday morning starting at 7:30am. Optional services may not be available at this time.

The cost for the schools is $449.00 + Tax (GST or HST depending on the province the school is in)

8. What if I can't pay the whole fee at once, do you have payment plans?
That is not a problem, you are required to pay $100.00 at the time of registration and then have until June 1 to pay the remainder.
If paying by credit card and you only want to pay $100.00 at the time of registration you need to write that in the comment box at the bottom of the registration page, otherwise you will be charged the full amount.
If paying by cheque(s) you can send in a $100.00 deposit cheque along with a post dated cheque for the balance dated June 1, or you can send in multiple cheques and spread the payments out.
9. How do you group the participants?
Participants are grouped according to the level of hockey they are going into the following year. So for example we try and keep all second year initiation players in one group, first year novices in the next and so on. There are some exceptions to this and we also sometimes take into account the participants age. Sometimes it is necessary to move players up or down to make the group size work. We are very good at grouping but nobody is perfect so if you have a problem please come see us right away.
10. Can we make grouping requests?
Yes, as long as the participants are playing similar levels of hockey we will group them together for you. Please keep in mind if there is a huge hockey level or age difference between them we will not group them together.
11. What is my child's schedule going to be?
Until a school is full, we do not finalize the groupings, so therefore the schedules may change. However you can call or email us at any time and we will have a pretty good idea of your child's start and end times.
12. My child needs help getting dress, will someone help them?
Yes, all of the younger players will be given a hand getting dressed if they need it. We do appreciate any help parents give us but if you can not be at the school we will make sure they are looked after. As the children get older we do encourage them to try and get dressed themselves and we will help them when needed.
13. Do you teach body-checking?
All players that are going into first year pee wee will get extensive instruction in this hockey skill. This is a very important time for these players as this will be the first time they are hitting. We cover this skill daily starting with safety, the basics and progressing throughout the week. Older groups will also work on this skill.
