Spring/Summer Program

2012 Edge Conditioning Camps This is an on and off ice training program that runs the months of June, July and August, 5 days per week (Monday through Friday), 2 hours per day. This program is open to pro, college, junior, midget and bantam players. Participants can sign up for 1, 2 or 3 months and we will be flexible and pro rate fees to accommodate required away time (holidays, prior commitments).

Testing

In order to determine your current conditioning level, you will be tested on your quickness, agility, balance, power, strength, flexibility and anaerobic endurance, amongst others. Each participant will have an Edge binder to keep track of test scores, in order to monitor progression and identify areas of improvement. 

Training

In hockey you use many pieces of equipment such as your stick and skates. Most players forget the most important piece of equipment - THEIR BODY. We will give you this piece of equipment to use as a tool, and it will be the one that makes a good player great. This program will focus on training the whole body for the complete athletic package.

A day during one of your sessions may look like this: warm-up, speed-power work, speed development linear and lateral, strength training, core work, aerobic conditioning, cool down and stretching.

Each player will be in the weight room 3 times per week working on explosive power. The intensity level increases each month to prepare players for the start of the season in September.

Nutrition

Edge Conditioning trains the whole body, inside and out. Therefore, in addition to the physical training at this camp we also cover nutrition. There will be a guest speakers who will cover many aspects of nutrition such as: current diet analysis, eating habits, new diets and pre and post game eating. Edge Conditioning will teach you how to fuel your body so it will perform at maximum capacity.

Camp Details

The camp runs June, July and August in four week segments. Details for the spring summer of 2012 will be coming soon.
