Spring/Summer Program

 

Edge Conditioning is very excited to annouce our new partnership with Heavens Fitness. Heavens Fitness has been operating in Calgary (637-11 Ave SW) since 1982 and is a leader in the fitness industry in Calgary. Heavens owner Helen Vanderburg is know throught the world for her involment in fitness as an instructor, speaker, program developer and much more. 

Heavens is a boutique fitness centre that has really taken fuctional training to a new level. This is a perfect fit for Edge Conditioning's summer hockey programs. Heavens has everything needed for the hockey program to be a huge success and we at Edge look forward to working with Heavens for many years.

2012 Edge Conditioning Camps This is an off ice training program that runs the months of June, July and August, 5 days per week (Monday through Friday), 2 hours per day. This program is open to pro, college, junior, midget and bantam players. Participants can sign up for 1, 2 or 3 months and we will be flexible and pro rate fees to accommodate required away time (holidays, prior commitments).

Training

In hockey you use many pieces of equipment such as your stick and skates. Most players forget the most important piece of equipment - THEIR BODY. We will give you this piece of equipment to use as a tool, and it will be the one that makes a good player great. This program will focus on training the whole body for the complete athletic package.

A day during one of your sessions may look like this: warm-up, speed-power work, speed development linear and lateral, strength training, core work, aerobic conditioning, cool down and stretching.

Each player will be in the weight room 3 times per week working on explosive power. The intensity level increases each month to prepare players for the start of the season in September.

Nutrition

Edge Conditioning trains the whole body, inside and out. Therefore, in addition to the physical training at this camp we also cover nutrition. There will be a guest speakers who will cover many aspects of nutrition such as: current diet analysis, eating habits, new diets and pre and post game eating. Edge Conditioning will teach you how to fuel your body so it will perform at maximum capacity.

Camp Details

June Session:  June 4 - 29 (20 days), 4-6pm

July Session: July 3 - 27 (19 days), 8-10am

August Session: July 30 - August 24 (19 days, no session Aug 6), 8-10am 

Please note to register you need to contact Heavens Fitness (Erin Watts) and Erin will get you signed up. You can sign up for 1, 2 or 3 months and we will also pro-rate the price if you require time away (family holidays, etc)
